10★ units were first added to Fantasica in July 2015. The first was Uriel, as part of Extreme Packs Season 24.

The new 10★ rarity introduced a new mechanic to the game as well. Previously, all units had a default max level cap of (rarity x 20). That could then be increased or "level broken", via the use of the appropriate item, to an additional 20 levels (i.e. a unit with 9★ rarity would have a default level cap of 180, which could then be increased with Ichor icon.png Ichor up to a max level broken cap of 200).

10★ units introduced the concept of Empowered units, which could be level broken up to a maximum of 40 levels beyond the default (200), to a total of 240.

For 10★ units, this is done through the use of two items:

[edit] Aurora Essence

Aurora Essence icon.png Aurora Essences can raise a 10★ unit's cap up a maximum of 20 levels.

They are currently received as event rewards for achieving high ranks.

[edit] Prismatic Orb

Prismatic Orb icon.png Prismatic Orbs can raise a 10★ unit's cap up a maximum of 20 levels.

They are currently received from Leana's Exchange Shop - items and cards can be traded for Orb Points, and then 100 Orb Points can be exchanged for 1 Prismatic Orb.

Once the 10★ has been capped out at 240, by using 20 Aurora Essences and 20 Prismatic Orbs, it can be changed into it's final form. This form has different stats (higher land/air/sea values, possibly a higher deploy cost, possibly different skills). It also has slightly different artwork - see below for an example.
