Event Info
Each tree has a set number of floors. The Sun Tree has 50 and the Dream Tree has 100.
Additionally, if you completely fill your Grove Portal to 100%, you'll also open a portal to the rare Death Tree. The portal will only remain open for 5 minutes.
You can fill the Grove Portal by completing monster encounters within each Tree. Defeating bosses found every 10 floors will also count towards your Portal.
Finally, you can also use the event item, Sun Tears, to fill your Portal a set amount.
There are 120 floors within the Death Tree.
- On October 28, 2013, the Portal to the Death Tree will close and will instead lead to the Elder Tree. This change will take affect at the end of the Head Start Rankings.
Spend Training Pts to make your way through each floor. Once a floor has been 100% cleared, the way will open to the next floor.
Every 10 floors, you'll encounter a boss. Defeat the boss to proceed further into the Tree.
Defeating a boss will earn you a variety of rewards. Defeat the boss on the final floor of each tower to receive an event-exclusive rare card.
There are number of different cards you can receive and you can clear trees multiple times to get a new reward. However, most rewards will be awarded at random starting from the second playthrough of a given tree.
Finally, some floors will also award you with event-specific titles. Good luck!
- Units will not gain experience by clearing floors.
- All rewards will be sent to your Inbox.
- Event-exclusive Titles can be found on your Profile page under Edit Title ? Achievements.
- You cannot receive the same title more than once.
- All progress made within the Death Tree, including boss HP and number of floors advanced, will be lost at the end of the Head Start Rankings.

Fighting Within the Elder Tree
Within the Elder Tree event, you will occasionally encounter packs of monsters(Encounter Quests).
You can deploy two of your own units, and up to four of your allies' leader units, to combat the threat.
When you find an Encounter Quest, you can completely avoid it by choosing to Flee. However, you will not earn any BT Pts for the quest.
During an Encounter Quest, you will receive BT Pts for every monster you manage to defeat. Defeat 100% of the monsters within the quest and you will earn bonus BT Pts.
There is no cooldown for Encounter Quests.
You will also have a small chance to encounter the powerful Golem. Defeating Golem with award you with a larger number of BT Pts than other Encounter Quests.
Clearing the Sun Tree and the Dream Tree stages will unlock rare Dryad encounters. The more times you clear a tree, the higher your chance of encountering a Dryad.
Once you have unlocked a particular Dryad, you will have a chance to encounter her in all available trees, regardless of whether you have cleared it or not.
Deploy a Season 4 Dream Packs unit within the Elder Tree event to receive an ATK bonus. If your allies have special units set as their leader units, they will also receive an ATK bonus if deployed.
Finally, set a special unit as your leader unit to receive a BT Pt bonus. The higher the rarity, the bigger the bonus.
Fighting Bosses Within the Elder Tree Event
You will encounter a boss every 10 floors within the Tree.
You can deploy one of your own units, as well as the leader units of three of your allies, in a boss fight.
Losing a boss battle will not incur Cooldown, but you will be sent 2 - 5 floors back within your current tree.
The exact number of floors you will be sent back is determined at random.
You can challenge bosses as often as you'd like. They will not regenerate HP between battles.
Each boss has its own element (Land, Air, Sea).
Take advantage of this to get the upper hand in battle.
Special units like those included in the Season 4 Dream Packs, will receive a bonus to ATK strength when deployed in boss battles within the Elder Tree event.
Only your units, and the leader units of your allies, will be eligible to earn an ATK strength bonus in this fashion.
Setting one of these special units as your leader will also enable you to receive bonus BT Pt. The higher the rarity of the unit, the bigger the bonus you'll receive.
The Grove Portal
Fill up the Grove Portal to gain access to difficult-to-reach areas like the Death Tree and Elder Tree.
You can fill the Portal by engaging in Encounter Quests and defeating the bosses that appear every 10 floors within each tree.
Failing an Encounter Quest or boss battle will also fill the Grove Portal, but you will fill less than if you had been successful.
You can also use Sun Tears to fill the Grove Portal. Each drop fills up 20% of the Portal.
Once you have filled the Grove Portal up to 100%, you can press Open Portal to open the portal. The portal will remain open for 5 minutes.
The Death / Elder trees offer a greater number of BT Pts, as well as their own unique rewards.
Furthermore, you can use Sun Tears while the portal is open to keep the Grove Portal open for an additional 90 seconds.
The maximum duration for any Grove Portal is 660 seconds.
Once the portal closes, you will be returned to the main screen of the event.
- The Death Tree will be available from October 24, 2013, post-maintenance until October 28, 2013, maintenance.
- The Elder Tree will be available from October 28, 2013, post-maintenance until October 31, 2013, maintenance.
- Completing Encounter Quests / defeating bosses while the Grove Portal is open will NOT add additional time to the portal.
- If the use of a Sun Tear would increase the effective duration of the Grove Portal past 660 seconds, then its use will be prohibited.
Sun Tears
Sun Tears are a special item that you can use to fill up your Grove Portal.
Each Sun Tear you use will fill your Grove Portal 20%. Filling up your Grove Portal will allow you to access the normally hidden Death Tree / Elder Tree.
Once filled, the Grove Portal will remain open for 5 minutes.
The Elder / Death Tree offers more BT Pts than the Sun / Dream Tree, and also has its own unique rewards.
Furthermore, you can also use a Sun Tear while the Grove Portal is open to keep it active for an additional 90 seconds.
The maximum duration for any Grove Portal is 660 seconds. Once the portal closes, you will be returned to the main screen of the event.
Finally, you can also use a Sun Tear to restore 50 Training Pts.
- Completing Encounter Quests / defeating bosses while the Grove Portal is open will NOT add additional time to the portal.
- You cannot use more than 5 Sun Tears at once when filling your Grove Portal.
- If the use of a Sun Tear would increase the effective duration of the Grove Portal past 660 seconds, then its use will be prohibited.
- Sun Tears will not restore Training Pts if you are at already at maximum Training Pts.
BT Pts
In the Elder Tree event, you will gain BT Pts by defeating monsters and boss enemies.
In Encounter Quests, you will earn BT Pts for each monster you destroy.
Destroy 100% of the monsters in an Encounter Quest to receive an increased amount of BT Pts.
Even if you fail to destroy 100% of the monsters in an Encounter Quest, you will still earn some BT Pts, so don't give up!
Defeating bosses will earn you a large number of BT Pts.
You can challenge bosses as often as you like. They will not regenerate HP between battles.
However, the fewer attempts it takes you defeat a boss, the greater the number of BT Pts you will receive.
You'll also earn BT Pts for destroying monsters as you advance through each floor.
Finally, you can also get bonus BT Pts if you have one of the new On the Job series units set as your leader unit. The higher the rarity of the unit, the bigger the bonus!
So grab your weapon and get to work, soldier!
